8D8 2-up Painted Hardcopy
The 8D8 hardcopy seen above is one of the single most impressive action figure hardcopies I've ever had the pleasure of viewing. The photos simply do not do this piece justice. Although it isn't readily apparent from the photos as there is nothing present to gauge the scale, this hardcopy is actually 2 times larger than the production figure. The term 2-up is used to decribe the hardcopy since it is cast at a 2:1 ratio. 8D8 and EV-9D9 represent the only two figures for the vintage 3 3/4" action figures sculpted at this ratio. The rest of the figures were sculpted at a 1:1 ratio meaning they were in scale with their production counterparts.

The photo above affords a rear glance of the painted hardcopy.

The final photo illustrates the fine detail present on the legs of the 2-up. The 8D8 action figure posesses striking detail throughout the entire figure. The detail is even more impressive at the 2:1 scale.
