Star Wars Soundtrack BPI Silver Award
This is one of the British silver awards issed by BPI for the sale of £150,000 units of the Star Wars soundtrack (composed by John Williams and performed by the London Symphony Orchestra). The BPI issues silver and gold awards as successive levels in contrast to the RIAA in the United States with gold and platinum awards. In my opinion, the British record awards are the finest made, with different color backs for the different levels of awards, a minimalist frame design, and Union Jack in the upper left hand corner. The Star Wars soundtrack is one of the best-selling motion picture sountracks of all time, winning many awards around the world (Oscar, Grammy, etc.) and even cracking the top 10.
