| Gamorrean Guard Plastic Bank | |
| The Adam Joseph company issued a line of vinyl banks for Return of the Jedi and the Ewoks cartoon series, of which the Gamorrean Guard is the rarest. Of the seven banks issued--the others being the Emperor's Royal Guard, Darth Vader, R2-D2, Wicket, and Kneesaa--the Gamorrean is the only one to have never seen release in the United States. Long thought to have never been mass produced, collectors later discovered it was released in Canada and Australia in limited quantities. Although it doesn't have the same cachet with collectors today, this was once considered one of the hobby's holy grails. Because it was pictured on the boxes of banks widely released in the US, many early collectors looked high and low trying to complete their set. |
