Italian Jabba's Palace Cardboard Playset/Store Display
This is an interesting piece, largely because very little is known about it. Apparently, it was used as some sort of store display in Italy during the promotion of the ROTJ toy line. In some ways, its comparable to the large, diorama-like displays used in Germany and England around the same time.

As you can see from a look at this photo, which shows the piece adorned with Jabba and several smaller action figures, its quite large. Constructed primarily from cardboard, it would have been both relatively inexpensive and easy to produce.

Lastly, we have a shot of the shipping box this was found in.

Undoubtedly, its a neat item; and its made all the more attractive by its obvious affinities to the several cardboard playsets issued by Kenner during the vintage Star Wars years.
