Line Art Rendering of Unused AT-AT Head Design | |
This photostat copy of an early line rendering of the head of Kenner's AT-AT demonstrates some of the early concepts for the toy's lone action feature, its "firing" under-chin guns. Apparently, there were plans early in the toy's development to make these guns operable via a hand-turned crank, located either at the side (upper drawing) or directly under (lower drawing) the head. Of course, the toy was eventually released with a button located on its interior, which kids could use to both move and light up the guns. |
