Chief Chirpa Alternate Painted Hardcopy | |
The figure you see above is an alternate version of the unreleased Chief Chirpa figure from the Ewoks line. The pictures below show it beside a hardcopy of the more common version for the sake of comparison. The two figures differ in a number of ways, including the size of the pine cone things on the top of their heads (it's smaller on the alternate), the shape of the two necklace pendants (the alternate has a longer tooth), the width of the cowl (wider on the alternate), the eyelets on the ties holding the shirts together (those on the alternate have eyelets surrounding them while those on the standard version do not), and the color and shape of the hairy sleeve trims (brown and small on the alternate, yellow and larger on the standard version). There are also other, more subtle differences. For instance, the hair details are less defined on the alternate.
Given the more detailed nature of the standard version, I think it's safe to say that it is the later of the two pieces. But they resemble each other so closely that it's quite possible they derived from the same series of sculpts. |
