| This is a card for the original version of R2-D2. Kenner must have decided early on that they would not continue making this figure beyond the one found in Empire Strikes Back packaging. Notice that the figure\'s name does not appear in the nameplate. Actually the entire nameplate area is blank. The other odd thing on the card is that the Kenner logo is missing as well. The space is shaped accordingly, but the print was never put there. It might be of interest to note that the original R2-D2 has been found on Spanish ROTJ and Trilogo packaging for the \"sensorscope\" version of the figure. Neither the packaging nor the name refllected this fact, so they could have just been a packaging errors of sorts. Though it\'s hard to say for sure. |
