A-Wing Pilot Painted First Shot | |
This is a first shot A-Wing Pilot I bought from a friend in Cincinnati. While most first shots aren't too different from their production counterparts, this one is a little more interesting.
What makes it special is that the plastic in which the head of the figure was injection-molded is of a slightly lighter color. For whatever reason, prior to mass production, they changed to a much darker shade of brown. If you look in the 1985 Toy Fair catalog, you'll see that an A-Wing Pilot with a lighter colored helmet is shown, along with other early variations such as a Lando General with a blue cape and a metallic-toned EV-9d9. This A-Wing Pilot also lacks the date/copyright information on the back of its leg. |
