AT-AT Driver Painted Hardcopy | |
This is a great example of an early Empire Strikes Back hardcopy, something that doesn't turn up with a whole lot of regularity. It's also nice that it's of one of the neatest looking of all ESB figures, the AT-AT Driver. Above you see the front view. This prototype is painted slightly differently than were the production figures.
Above we see a rear view of the painted hardcopy.
Here you see the figure with the limbs removed, as well as a comparison shot of the prototype alongside the production figure. From the comparison photo you can see the minor differences in paint application that exist between the hardcopy and standard figure. The disassembled view, on the other hand, reveals the type of material that was used to make this piece. It's brownish in color. This is typical of hardcopies made prior to 1982 or so. This is just one of the fantastic pieces in Mike's collection. If you get a chance, have a look at the excellent web site he's developed to showcase his collection. It's called First State Star Wars, and can be accessed by clicking here. |
