Hoth Stormtrooper 4-up Hardcopy Paint Master (668-001) | |
This 4-up represents one of the five snowtrooper poses designed for
inclusion in the Hoth Generator Attack playset.
Each Micro Collection figure was originally sculpted at a 4:1 ratio. As a result, the diminutive size of the production toys
is greatly overshadowed by the sheer size and displayability of their associated 4:1 prototype counterparts.
This 4-up hardcopy shown above is cast in green urethane, referred to as dynacast, and is entirely hand painted, placing it in the catagory of a paintmaster. It was crafted using a silicone mold made directly from the original wax sculpt. The 4-up paint master surfaced from the collection of an ex-Kenner designer, which was brokered by The Earth years ago. The collection included an impressive number of 4-up paint masters and 3 3/4" figure hardcopies. Given the relatively sparse number of painted 4-ups existing in collections prior to this find, a large majority of the 4-up paint masters now known, including a vast array of those seen on the Archive, trace back to this single collection. |
