Pictured here is the Stormtrooper figure packed onto a French 'La guerre des étoiles' 20-back square card. This packaging was used in France on the same card format from 1979 to 1982, unlike some other countries, Meccano kept releasing Star Wars characters on Star Wars (GDE) square cards even during the Empire line. Notice the French translation 'Soldat Impérial'. This card was surely mass-produced but it has become quite scarce since many children would buy several of them to form patrols like in the movie or recreate battles as shown on the cardfront. |
