| Return of the Jedi Tri-Logo 4-Pack (Han Solo Hoth Outfit, Stormtrooper, Logray, Klaatu) | |
| These packs of four carded figures were apparently sold in Italy during the 80's and seem to have turned up Stateside in some abundance during the early 90's. The package consists of the four carded figures, lined up so as to neatly overlap each other, held together at their tops by a piece of thin, folded-over cardboard. As you can see, this header cardboard features the Return of the Jedi logo along with the words "Collector's Special Offer Pack," the Italian translation of which appears on the reverse side as "Oferta Speciale Per I Collezionisti." The sharp figure backgrounds of the Tri-Logo blister cards make for a colorful combination and that star-burst price area gives the ensemble a distinctly foreign flair. Though the great majority of the figures included in these packs seem to have been of the Tri-Logo variety, the Han Hoth that's included here is actually a Palitoy ROTJ issue, the cardback featuring the Chewbacca Bandolier mail-away offer that was a UK exclusive. There were numerous such packaging oddities that popped up towards the demise of the line and its interesting to look back at them to see how Kenner and its foreign affiliates attempted to liven things up. |
