Death Star | |
The Toltoys version of the popular cardboard Death Star that was produced in Auckland, New Zealand came in a rather unique box.
Unlike the box in which most of the toy's incarnations (it was released in several countries, including Canada, the United Kingdom and Australia) came packaged, this version does not open from the side via a retractable cardboard flap. Instead, it opens rather like a boardgame or a model kit: it has a separate upper half, which fits over and around the slightly smaller lower portion. You'll also notice from this picture that there is no printing at all on the lower portion--the graphics of the package are left to the lid alone.
Here you see the Toltoys logo, showing the toy's place of production. According to David, the Australian-produced version came in a more traditional style of box. |
