| R2-D2 Large Size Action Figure | |
| This series of Star Wars dolls from Mexico has an interesting history. Until recently, there was little documentation on these dolls since they never seemed to turn up boxed, and many collectors thought these might be bootlegs. There was a small warehouse find in early 1996 of these dolls confirming the Tusken Raider, Han Solo, Darth Vader, Princess Leia, Luke, Jawa, and R2-D2 dolls as issued by Lily Ledy in Mexico.
All of these dolls differ from the US counterparts significantly. They appear to be cheaper in design, and possibly made of existing parts for dolls issued by Lily Ledy. The R2-D2 doll is interesting because it looks like an enlarged version of the Kenner action figure to every last detail. |
