Star Wars Van Set | |
Ahh.. the custom van craze of the '70's brought to life Star Wars-style. These were pre-existing molds that Kenner slapped SW logos onto and gave birth to a new toy. Each was powered by a large flywheel that was put into motion by means of a toothed zip strip. Pulling the strip caused the flywheel to begin to rotate. As the van was placed onto the floor, the rubber edge of the flywheel gripped the surface and off the van went. This idea was much more interesting when Ideal used it to sell thousands of Evel Knievel motorcycles. |
