| Released primarily to department stores, Special Offers were an incentive to stores to stock special Star Wars items. Each year from 1978 to 1982, Kenner released a number of vehicles, playsets and accessories with Special Bonus figures as part of their Department Store Program. The Rebel Armored Snowspeeder was released in 1980 and is one of the harder Special Offers to find today. The Rebel Soldier was part of the newly released Empire Strikes Back line and was included with the vehicle.
This close-up shows the details of the offer; the Rebel Soldier was in a Kenner bag inside the box with the American releases. In all over twenty-five different Special Offers were released for the Star Wars and Empire toy lines. |
