Toy Center Shelf-Talker | |
Of the standard shelf-talkers issued by Kenner to advertise their Star Wars toy line, Star Wars-series talkers are the rarest. Although by about 1981, Kenner had begun to produce their shelf-talkers in a sturdy plastic material, early examples such as this one were constructed of a pretty flimsy cardboard. This is actually the second version of the Star Wars shelf-talker, the first being the "Toy Galaxy" talker, which was available to retailers in 1978. This "Toy Center" type was advertised in the 1979 Toy Fair catalog, and likely shipped with merchandising items such as the large "Toy Center" header card available that same year. |
