| Lucasfilm has issued quite a few Star Wars-themed Christmas cards over the years. This one from 1980 depicts the Droids inside Santa's Workshop. Its funny to think that, while kids all over the world were asking Santa for Star Wars toys, Santa himself was using main Star Wars characters as sweatshop labor :^). The painting is by Ralph McQuarrie, who did a number of LFL's Christmas card images. It was also used on that pinnacle of Star Wars music releases, the Christmas in the Stars album.
The interior of the card continues the homey theme, displaying a candle and emphasizing the family-like aspects of the various Lucasfilm companies. |
