| Many collectors consider the unproduced Droids series figures as some of the most sought after collectibles within the Star Wars hobby. Even a loose version of one of these characters can command a high pricetag due to scarcity and demand.
In this case, the unproduced Droids piece is something extraordinary. Unproduced Mon Julpa, on card, with unproduced gold-toned coin, with the 2nd series Droids figures printed on back. It doesn't get any sweeter than this! The figure inside is a handpainted hardcopy.
The back of the card features the 2nd series line of Droids figures. Most of the proof cards and carded samples of the unproduced Droids line do not feature these figures and just have the regular series of 12. Note the velcro fasteners to attach the figure to a Toy Fair display or to affix to a background for photography.
A closeup shot of the cardback shows the names and descriptions of each character in the line. The photos appear to match the photography in Kenner's Toy Fair catalogs of the time. |
