| As you can see, the back of the album differs markedly from the version Gus owns. While Gus' album has had a sticker applied to it bearing the POTF logo, anonymous collector's is blank. There were supposedly quite a few of these albums made up; when the idea for a coin album was cancelled, there were literally boxes of unused, unmarked albums lying around, from which pack rat employees could scavenge. Still, very few have turned up on the collector's market; and surely, there weren't many of the logo'd versions made at all.
Logo or no logo, it's a pretty major piece of un-issued Kenner history. And its place as pretty much the last item developed for the POTF line makes it all the more significant. |
