Kenner 69178 Four-Sided Floor Merchandiser Dump - 'Star Wars is Here' | |
Though this display remained somewhat mysterious for quite some time, in recent years it's been found to be part of what Kenner called the "Star Wars Floor Merchandiser." Consisting of a "Toy Galaxy" pole display and a "Star Wars is Here" portion wrapped around a cylindrical "dump," the merchandiser is believed to have been designed to hold Kenner's earliest Star Wars products, released in 1977.
The "Star Wars is Here" portion may also have been included in an early department store promotional kit, as discussed here. Not many of these exist, and most of the extant examples consist of single or double panels that have been cut down from the full complement of four. For more information, see here. |
