Toy Fair Coin Displays
As Toy Fair is intended to sell concepts and ideas for products to potential distributers, one can imagine that a lot of ingenuity goes into many of the displays that are put on at the annual convention, and Toy Fair 1985 was no exception. Many of the Toy Fair displays are hand made, while others are produced specifically for the event. Needless to say most are one-of-a-kind pieces.
This Boba Fett coin display is huge, as shown by the yardstick to the right of the display itself. It is very similar to both Logray and Thall Joben displays, which were meant to sell the idea of Ewoks and Droids coins, respectively, in that they all are large scale drawings of the coins they represent. This Darth Vader piece is equally huge and impressive. Note the actual Vader coin to the lower right for size comparison. This is a very different piece from the other Toy Fair '85 coin displays in that it's not just a flat, drawn image. Instead, the Vader is a fully three dimensional representation of the POTF coin right down to the chrome paint. Darth Vader Display
