When I think back to my childhood, Star Wars toys are almost always a part of the memory. I can't remember ever not playing with the toys at every major holiday and birthday. I even recall my dad telling me that he must have bought every figure at least three times because of me losing them. Like many other people that grew up in a Star Wars world, by the time the Power of the Force line came out, I was just "too cool" to be buying action figures. It's very funny when you consider how buying these toys are such a major part of my life now. I began collecting again in the summer of 1990. I had just graduated high school, and picked up a carded Return of the Jedi Darth Vader. At the time I really didn't look at it as collecting, I just saw him at a local flea market and thought it was amazing it was still in it's package! I brought the carded Vader home and stuck him into a drawer. A lot has happened since then.
I'm 27 years old, and a Marketing Major at the University of Cincinnati. Before I started working towards my degree, I served 6 years in the Air Force. Besides collecting card backs, I am also interested in vintage toy prototypes, Kenner toy displays, bootleg toys, and A-Wing related items. Contact me at dflarida@oswcc.com if you have any cardbacks not on this chart, or if you just want to chat about vintage Star Wars Collecting.
