Large Tusken Raider: Until the Mexican warehouse find that popped up a few months ago, there was little information regarding this Tusken Raider doll. This is just one in the series of dolls that was made by the Lily-Ledy company in Mexico. Before this find was made public in Action Figure Digest, this Tusken Raider was believed to either be a prototype of sorts or one of the first customized dolls dating back to the late 1970's. We now know that it was indeed a licensed item, but its small foreign release kept most of the knowledgeable U.S. collectors in the dark. The quality and craftsmanship of the entire series of Lily-Ledy dolls is very low, but it's their cheesiness that makes them desirable to collectors. The boxes, however are quite nice in comparison and each has a biography on the individual character. The photos on the box are from movie and publicity photos.
