Large Tusken Raider: Until the Mexican warehouse find that popped up a few months ago, there was little information regarding this Tusken Raider doll. This is just one in the series of dolls that was made by the Lily-Ledy company in Mexico. Before this find was made public in Action Figure Digest, this Tusken Raider was believed to either be a prototype of sorts or one of the first customized dolls dating back to the late 1970's. We now know that it was indeed a licensed item, but its small foreign release kept most of the knowledgeable U.S. collectors in the dark. The quality and craftsmanship of the entire series of Lily-Ledy dolls is very low, but it's their cheesiness that makes them desirable to collectors. The boxes, however are quite nice in comparison and each has a biography on the individual character. The photos on the box are from movie and publicity photos. The toys themselves are not pictured at all. Several of the boxed dolls are also shown in this section of the archive.
