Takara Rocket Firing R2-D2: This is just one of several Star Wars toys that was unique to the Japanese market. Many of these larger sized toys had action features. This particular R2 shoots missiles. Another R2 was made that showed movie clips, and a C-3PO was made that fired missiles from the chest. There was also a sonic controlled R2-D2 that operated much the same as the sonic controlled Landspeeder. Takara also made a set of four 8 inch figures and a set of three large die-cast figures. These are in addition to the few vehicles that were exclusives to them as well. Takara was definitely on the ball.
