Conceptual Models for Security Scout Mini-Vehicle: Here are some photos representing two steps in the creation of a conceptual model for the Security Scout mini-vehicle. These first "in progress" photos show the model at a very early stage of its creation; all that appears to have been finished at this point were the backpack portion with its retractable head clamps and the movable lever which the figure holds onto.
Here's a second shot showing the head gear in place. Obviously, that plastic platform you see the figure standing on was intended only to stand in for the unfinished bottom portion of the model.
And here's one last shot of the back of the piece.
Now here we have the finished, painted model. You should be able to pick out a few details here which differentiate this from the mass-produced toy. For one thing, the forward cannons are totally different.
This photo gives you a good look at another detail not present on the production toy: that thin rectangular opening located on the rear fin. You'll also notice that the silver lever is totally different than the one eventually produced.
And one last shot of the back.
Of course, even though the camoflauge pattern is present here, the paint scheme on this thing is much more colorful than the one used on the production toy, which was entirely tan and green. This might have been painted at a time before Kenner decided to make this an Endor-based vehicle.
