Original Artwork for Micro Collection Death Star Compactor Decals: Original artwork is top of the food chain for many that collect Kenner Prototypes. It can come in the form of wax or acetate sculptings, photo-art, paper or wood patterns, or as in this case hand painted designs. This piece of one-of-a-kind original art would have served as the master for the millions of sticker sheets worldwide that eager young Star Wars fans applied in preparation for the fantastic hours of adventure ahead of them.

This particular piece of artwork is for the decal sheet that came with the Micro Collection Death Star Compactor playset. Below are some close-ups where you can see all of the techinal specs.

If you look in the lower right corner of this one you'll note that the decals were designed at a 2:1 (read 2 to 1) ratio, meaning they are two times larger than the actual toy decals that would later be mass produced.

It's always neat to take a look at what went into the different stages of the design process. I find it even more enjoyable to take a glimpse into one of the areas most children would have taken for granted.
